Good morning everyone, students, and Teachers. I hope everyone will know me now. I would repeat am from Singapore. Today is my last day in school. I hope that what I brought to Chin Hsi was positive and you guys still have a good image of Singapore and Singaporeans :)
Having said that, staying in Taiwan for a total of 5 weeks and 3 days to be exact.
I think there are good things to be learned from both countries.
Starting with what Singapore can learn from Taiwan.
Back in Singapore, our recycling habit was quite bad. The trash that could be recycled are lumped together ( plastic, aluminium , paper) . Then we sell to China. End of story. Unlike Taiwan, the recyclable process is very thorough!
Customer service in taiwan is really good !
In Singapore , the customer service in terms of speed and efficiency. You will get most likely ignored after you purchase your product.
Next up, what taiwan can learn from Singapore.
Singapore’s Pedestrian have the right of way. Cars actually slows down went approaching the traffic junction regardless of traffic light colour. It’s quite safe. Unlike Singapore , I Taiwan’s traffic think is quite chaotic . Everyone likes to chiong like they are from initial D.
Short lessons, Back in Singapore comparison. ( 22/06/2017 Conclusion )
studying in Singapore is not as stressful as you guys think. It really Depends on parents.
I also want to share what I have learnt.
I have also Learnt a lot here. From designing my own lesson to preparing a showcase. I had a lot of help from Lin Chen and Xiu Min and students that assisted me . It will not go so smoothly without you guys.
Am really grateful that I was given opportunities to participate in student events too . Club showcase and graduation.
Especially, Grade 9 graduation ceremony,
I myself is having my (convocation) graduation ceremony soon. So myself have a lot of thoughts during their graduation. I have written it on the blog, if you guys are interested.
Being here brings back the memories when I was in my secondary school.
Back then I wasn’t a good student. Copy homework from others , playing computer games after school , daydreaming in class. Was so bad academically I was only able to go to the worst junior college ( senior high ) in Singapore.
I choose the technical path instead . Even though the possibility of getting in my university was slim. Luckily, I had a group of friends that wanted to go into the same university that I was aiming for . We pull and helped each other during my polytechnic years hence we all made it into our university. And eventually university graduates.
The message that I want to get across that in life. Set yourself goals that you want to achieve. Set yourself how to achieve it. Surround yourself with like minded individuals and you will be fine. Life is a marathon. If you want to go fast, go alone. If want to go far, go together.
Thank you guys for hearing my thoughts and good luck for your exams! Study hard ! Thank you !

06/22/2018 Conclusion
Conclusion
I have learned a lot in short stay in Taiwan, had a first hand experiencing the life from a perspective, not as a tourist but a closer view on a daily life of a Taiwanese, a teacher’s assistant to be exact. I felt the warmth and kindness from the teachers and students. I felt so welcomed when I was first introduced to Chin Hse.
The whole stay in Chin Hse really brings me back the memories when I was still a kid in school. But I wasn’t a good student during my school days. I’m one of the daydreamers sitting at the corner of the class waiting for the class to end. Luckily, I don’t see anyone that acts like that during my class. Hopefully, you guys are as attentive in my class is to other classes. Till now, sometimes I still wonder how you guys able to sit in class for such a long period of time. You guys spent most of your time in school, I won’t say study hard but do make your days as fulfilling as possible. Make sure to have a memorable Junior High!
Back in Singapore, specifically my school as I can’t comment on other schools in Singapore. My classes start at 7.30 am to around 2 ~ 3 pm from Monday to Thursday! Friday is a half day ending at 12.30 pm consisting of only club activities. Since I had so much free time after school, most of my fond memories were spent outside of school maybe that was why I did not do so well academically :D . Stress on the students is not so much by the school but caused by the parents. Luckily, my parents gave up on me, I can have the freedom to do whatever I want 😊.
There are much to learn from the teachers their different style of teaching. Also being in the office allows me to accidentally eavesdrop stories is what I find most entertaining in school haha! Protective parents, relationships, and fights.
Lastly to all the students that assisted me, thank you! I truly enjoyed the conversations with you guys! Bye Bye!
06/04/2018 - 06/08/2018 Classroom participation
Class Participation
After teaching for about 20 classes. I felt bad for my first class that I taught. Class 806, thank you for being my guinea pig. Teaching you guys gave me ideas on how to improve my lesson :D. Although I had my guidance from teacher Ling Chen and even sat in a class taught by teacher Xiu Min. I learnt the most after teaching your class.
To all the classes, I want to thank you guys for listening attentively to my class. Participating actively in my small quizzes. I hope you guys learnt a little more about Singapore.
I introduced our food, festivals and the many distinct laws of Singapore. What I want to emphasize in class was that Singapore is a multi-racial and multi-religion country where its people live in harmony. Many laws were made by the government to create a harmonious Singapore.
Additionally, I want to add was that we Singaporeans also live in a meritocratic society. Meritocratic society is based on performance, as measured through examinations or demonstrated achievement. She also constantly thrives to gives all Singaporean regardless of race with equal opportunities to move up the social ladder. Therefore many young Singaporeans like myself feels that the world’s is my oyster where we are in a position to take the opportunities that life has to offer.
One of the class representative that introduced me in front of the class in English.
A video clip that shows how Singaporeans celebrate Hari Raya Puasa.

06/14/2018 Graduation: to Grade 9 cohort
What a bittersweet day for you guys. A ceremony that marks the end of School Life in junior high. The set-up of the ceremony is designed by you guys made the ceremony all the more meaningful. To be able to take part in your big day is an honor although I did not do much! It’s commendable that the band played throughout the whole ceremony. Also, the videos are all well-made and hilarious! Especially the video made by the homeroom teachers. Imitating the memorable students in class hahaha!
As the ceremony reaches the finale, things start to get emotional. Seeing some of you guys crying so pitifully made me took some hard breaths too. I, myself is a graduating student waiting for my convocation. To be officially called a graduate and a working adult. I have lots of thoughts about my whole school life during the ceremony. Everything must come to an end. I guess we must look forward to the next chapter of our lives. In your case, High School!
Although saying that it is the last day of school sounds good. But I bet that you guys will feel quite empty in the coming weeks. I heard there will be a long break until the start of high school. Enjoy yourselves!

06/10/2018 School's music concert
School's music concert
Amazing performance! I'm glad that I came to watch this! Great job from all the stakeholders that made this performance a success! The teachers, the volunteers, emcees and lastly the performers. You guys put up a great show! The practises and rehearsals have paid off. I do not have good judgment in music but I know that music is great when your mind starts to drift with the melody and images starts appearing in your head.
The opening act consists of teachers banding together to play a beautiful piece. I don't remember the title but it's good!
The band played the iconic Beauty and the Beast theme song. Beautifully played.
Pirates of the Caribbean theme song!
06/06/2018 School's Performing Arts Showcase.
School's Performing Arts Showcase
Organised by grade 8 student council students. It is a success! The emcees are great, judges are hilarious and performances are incredible!
Props to you guys! Able to hold the stage so well! All your hard work is being paid off as your show is very well received. And also "Spectacular" magic trick...
Personally my favorite performance! It's a little sad that the audience is too noisy! Must be the dance performance before this ^^.
This is just some of the hard work that made today's event a success! The more you rehearse the easier it is. Practice makes permanent.

06/04/2018 Scout Lesson: Building a Shelter
The objective of this lesson was to build a shelter that is able to resist rain, able to fit all group members that participated in building the shelter and also be completed within the time limit. One of the most hilarious lessons I had witnessed.
Students are told to prepare the materials beforehand so they brought umbrellas and raincoats. This team decided to make a one-sided shelter. Good luck!
Very smart using the surrounding structure to build the shelter but I think there's too little material to work on.
Left 5 minutes.
Although the shelter is not well made, considering the time, it is good effort by all of the teams. Below is some clips of the shelter being tested. Had a good laugh after watching the videos again.
